Kreg Owners' Community

I just purchased the K3MS along with some screws.

I have 3 questions.

1st question: The adjusting screw on the material support stop, which part should be facing the wood the head of the bolt, or the threaded end of the bolt?

I ask because I have seen it both ways head end looks like it would give more surface for the wood to press against but the the threaded end seems like it would be more precise or does it matter?

2nd question: I have not yet ordered the mini-trak  how would I fasten the  the material support stop that came with my K3MS to the mini-trak I assume there is some form of locking feature.

3rd question: I did not get any locking feature with my K3MS do I need to buy one or can I make my own?

Thanks Larry

Normally you will put the end of the screw towards your workpiece. However, you are correct that this work either way and will not cause problems. You should have receiveda black screw and a silver colored t-nut that will slide into the mini trak. If you did not receive this you can contact Kreg at customerservice@kregtool.com and they will send you one. The only locking feature would be the screw and nut that I mentioned before. Of course you can also just screw your stop to your board that your jig is attached to However, doing this takes away the adjustability of the stop position. Hopefully this makes sense and will help you out.
Thanks Dan I did get intouch with kreg and was told I should have received a screw and a T-nut and they would send me one.
I went through the box again I still have all the wrapping stuff but again no screw.
Great service those Kreg people.
today is my birthday and I was on my way to buy some screws and the right angle clamp when I was involved in a small fender bender so not so Happy birthday here.
