Kreg Owners' Community

On February 9, 2010, we announced the all-new Kreg Square-Cut through the Kreg Jig Owners' Community.  Community members were the very first customers to hear about the new tool, outside the walls of Kreg.  On March 1st, the Square-Cut started to become available at many dealers across the country.

"The problem with traditional squares is that while they give you a straight edge, they do nothing to simplify and speed up the process of aligning your saw to your pencil mark. The Kreg Square-Cut™ simplifies this
process with an adjustable guide arm that can be set to work with any circular
saw or jigsaw. Simply match the arm to your saw’s unique offset, then use the
Square-Cut™ to make fast and accurate cuts over and over again.

The Square-Cut's adjustable guide arm can be set to match any circular saw or jig saw. It compensates for the length from the blade to the edge of the base plate. What does this mean for you? Instead of eye-balling
the blade on the pencil mark or using your tape measure to set back your saw
from the line to a specific length, all you have to do to get a perfect cut is
place the guide arm next to your mark, and make your cut. Faster results, fewer
mistakes, and much less aggravation."

This thread is a place where members can post their thoughts/comments/questions/reviews regarding the Square-Cut, as well as posting photos, reviews, applications of their own Square-Cut.  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I recently purchased the Square Cut tool; & had my first chance to use it today.

I calibrated it on a Skil circular saw.  The Square Cut tool is an absolute blessing!

I followed the directions to the letter.  And I got perfectly squared cuts time after time,

right on the money!

Once you have the tool squared for your particular saw, it even allows for the kerf.

All my cuts measured exactly the way I measured them before cutting.  That tool will

get constant use from now on, with every project when I have to cut boards!

It's a great tool, but the statement any circular saw does not take in the battery saws, I have a ryboi 18volt that I use more than the larger skil saw. And the guide will not go in far enough, I'm sure there are a lot of people that use the battery saws because you don't have to deal with the cords. After sending in an inqurie has to this and got no where I made one out of hard wood that works (thats just the slide out only, not changing and thing with the main part).  Thank You the tools are great.      Garry Charland

Garry, I totally agree with you on the part about "any circular saw".  All the saws are not
compatible with this tool.  I happen to have the dual saw, which is a great tool.  But to make
that dual saw into a standard type circular saw, I would have to buy a seventy dollar attachment
to make it work as a circular saw.
But, I am not ready to do that.  My old Skil saw works just great with the Square Cut tool.
