Kreg Owners' Community

I just finished my first Kreg Jig project without any premade plans!  Just sketched my idea out and went to town.  Im fairly satisfied with the results and would love to get some feedback from other woodworkers.  (Especially seasoned ones who can give me a little constructive criticism!)    Also, my immediate future plans for the room are endtables with a bookshelf on top  (same idea as a hutch on top of a desk), a pair of dressers, and a tv stand.  All the same wood an stain type of course to pull the room all together.

PS.. yes I have photos posted on my page here. :)
Thanks Philip! The bed is for my wife and I. Frame fits a queen size mattress. As far as the tools I have to work with right now (other than the kreg jig and face clamps) are a jigsaw, miter box, and circular saw. Then all of the other basic tools to be expected. Drills, power sanders, level, etc..

Rich: We would be glad to give tips when possible. Perhaps you can give us a list of tools you have available? I could easily recommend a glue joint instead of a straight butt joint but if you do not have a router that would be useless information.
I think that any effort first or last is laudable, regardless of your experience, materials, or tools. Not a one of us does a job the same way we did them when we started. Though even those of us that are "seasoned" did a project or two that we would not want to claim, some time down the road. That in itself is part of the learning process.
If this is your first project -- the congrats! I have more use for a man that does for himself and family than one who cries over what he does not have. You have made a very good step in a positive way.

My next question: Is this bed frame for you or the children?

Welcome Rich! Good luck with your project and please keep us up to date with your work in progress and your finished job with details and pictures! I have learned a great deal allready since I joined this community and I cant wait to learn more!
Rich,
Thanks for posting! Glad to see you're off to a great start with the Kreg Jig!! Thought I might share this link with you so you could post photos to this thread if you so desired. Posting them directly makes it easier for others to see them and respond with feedback.

Jenny did a great job of laying out the steps necessary to do this. It's really quite easy, but not necessarily 'intuitive' if you've never done it before! Here you go: http://kregjig.ning.com/forum/topics/kreg-community-site-tutorial

Good luck!
