I almost hate to mention this but I was cleaning my shop with my dust collector and cyclone only to notice I sucked up a dust bag that was laying next to miter saw. How embarrassing could that be. Come on admit you have one better than this. We all do stupid once in life time.

Hey Jens you won't beleive this but I have a remote switch on my d c and yesterday I lost the remote control, this afternoon I was determined to find it. Turns out it was stuck in the first part of the hose from the cyclone to the tools. I used the dust collector hose to clean my workbench off and inadvertenly sucked the little controler up.

Jens this is another one of those post were I could wind up with carpal tunnel syndrome

Now we cant be this dumb

Hey Jens

I don't know about you but in my 55 or so years on this planet I only scracthed the  surfuce of my potential to cause havoc and meyhem in my shop the possibilties are endless,

Just hope it is safe mayhem,

Currently, i would say it's the 1/2" of sawdust that was covering everything...and i mean EVERYTHING in my garage.  Yesterday i thought i'd get off my duff and start sweeping it all up into a nice pile (almost 8" deep).  Upon completion of this monumental task i walked into the house and grabbed a beer so that i could go back and sit in the garage and enjoy the fruits of my labour.  I let the cat out on the way inside.

So I grabbed that beer, walked back to that clean shop, looked at that damn cat...as it dropped a deuce into my giant pile of sawdust.

....at least he covered it up when he was done.

Now that is a embarrassing moment. How funny!!!!!!!!!!!
Ant thing I have tired in the shop except maybe the clean up
Well, not in a woodshop, or home workshop, but when I was a jet engine mechanic.  Getting ready to roll an engine to the test cell, and we were inventorying the tool kit, and we were missing a quarter inch socket.  After an hour of searching, and calling Non-Destructive Inspection to see about getting an x-ray done on the engine, I found it in the rolled up cuff on my jumpsuit leg.
How about embarrassing and very stupid.  About a month ago I couldn't figure out why my saw was spitting out so much dust and leaving terrible saw marks, so I bought a new blade, better, but still s.o.s., so a few weeks later I notice that as I run the piece through the back kerf of the blade was gouging the wood.  I'm thinking, hey!, my blade got bent somehow.. I'd been taking it in and out putting in dado blades, etc.  I buy another blade, guess what?, same thing.  My friend shows up who can barely cut a 2x4 and says "you think your fence is out on the back side?"...... Well guess what?  Sigh.....
Portable belt sander + trigger lock + thirty foot lead cord + electricity = well you do the math...
I might just have to try that one
I was building a transit bus into a motorcoach. I precut ceiling panels out of 3 layered birch plywood by sized measured. Stained and finished each panel. When I went to put them in place. I had cut them the wrong direction. They only bend in one direction..... The wrong one. SOmetimes, for me it is measure twice and still cut twice.
