I got the call that a demolition crew was at one of the old falling down homes in our community. I loaded my truck and trailer and got there as fast as I could. The wood has a "rainbow" look because the old house had a hole in the room and the rain over the years had chipped away at the layers of paint on the kitchen boards....so what you are seeing it bits and pieces of multiple coats of paint as the rain washed them away over the years (Home construction year was 1942) I am THRILLED to have had the opportunity to give this wood new life.

I love on the Outer Banks of NC in Dare Co. the saying here is "They throw a house away a day". I go dumpster diving as often as I need wood for just about any project. Rarely do I need to pull nails from wood as most of it is cut off from long boards. All I do is when I get home is run it to the table saw to rip to size and clean up the ends on my mitre saw. I love what you did with this wood you found, you gave it a new life! Way to go.
