My kitchen island from concept to reality. Stay posted as I keep workign on it!

Hi everyone! I am a young 29 year old electrician and fire alarm expert and have become very proficient in sketup and this year for Xmas I decided to build a custom kitchen island. I have recently acquired a ton of Kreg jig products and I can not believe how useful these tools are! My favorite is the Kreg 45 which allows me to clamp my molding after applying a touch of glue and perfectly positions it so I can fire a small finish nail in to it. I am waiting for cabinets and the granite. Stay posted! Paint is going on today!

No problem Lenny, for the counter I plan to add a small piece of molding under the edge around the perimeter of the eating area once the granite is on. I already pre painted the trim and they are sitting my attic. Granite will be installed in less than a week I hope.

Great project, looks really nice and well built. What is the kreg 45 you mention? Sounds like a good tool but cannot find it on their website....can you post a pic? Is it the clamp on the floor on the 2nd page of your pics? Where do you get it? Thanks again and looking forward to you final pics

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
