The plans that I bought are are not written very well and are extremely vague. It took a lot of time to understand what they were trying to say and to try to cut the pieces out of the wood with minimal waste.
To just add more wires and/or breakers to a box remember that:
14 awg wire will only carry a maximum load of 15 amps of power
12 awg wire will only carry a maximum load of 20 amps of power
10 awg wire will only carry a maximum load of 30 amps of power
You do not want to overload the circuit breakers.
Each circuit can hold a maximum of 8 outlets. (I only install 6) Each outlet can only carry 15 amps.
When installing outlet's around water (Kitchen, Bathroom, swimming pool, etc...), they need to be
GFCI* outlets.
Yes I have worked with electricity as a profession and I would like to ask you to seek the advise of
a local "Certified Electrician" before starting on your own. They might have and idea to help you out
in your project.
I don't want to say that working with electricity can not be done by the "Do it yourself-er", however,
you need to take every precaution to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.

Replacing the wiring in my daughters house was more simple for that I was installing an entirely new
service including new breaker box, a new box for the electric meter, and new wires going to the
electric pole.
If there are any blank spaces in the box without breakers, adding is easier than having to upgrade to
a larger electrical service. Please do ask your electric company for help, they can explain what new
components need to be installed. Do not "ASSUME: that because your neighbor has it at their place, you
can do it to yours.
When the lineman from the electric company comes around, he/she may have you undo all of your hard
work and redo things to fit their needs and codes.
Ian, I was just reading your conversation with Ted Broussard about the kitchen he had remodeled for his wife. In that conversation you mentioned that you had upgraded the wiring in your daughters house. I was wondering if you could tell me how difficult it is or what is involved in extending an existing breaker box. My present box is full and I need a few more lines. Have you done this before?

Before I ramble too much further, tell me a little more of what you need to do and maybe a picture.

Sorry I could not reply sooner, I had family obligations to tend to.
Let me think for a few and I'll try to answer you question as best I can.
