Jens,

Hi. I like your pictures of your shop. I'm still working on my remodel/rebuild of my shed/shop. Hopefully I will get my shop done so you guys could check it out. I have an old craftsman saw and I used it until I got my job site tablesaw. I still have all the parts and stuff. I also see you like red licorice. It must be a good snack to think about projects or just to snack on.

Thank you for accepting me as a wood worker friend, I started out  by building a 20x30 foot garage in 1977, by my self and then I bought a 30x40 foot building next door and moved my shop over there . In shop clean up right now  ,will send pictures when done and it not the size of the shop it,s what,s in the heart of the builder and how much they like to create projects for others and see how much they enjoy them !!  It,s snowing here right now , have a great  year , JIM.

I sure like your Victorian screen door. I like the detail work on the window part of the screen. You captured the era of the time quite beautifully, Jens. Keep up the good work you are doing.

May I ask if you will sell or give out plans, your dresser, night stand project, also your high boy. There is a few others but I'm thinking I would try building out of pine for something to do and go from there. I'm looking to eventually build all my own furniture. Lol someday

I have never used 1/2 inch but it will work for 3/4 inch and I guess it will do fine for 1/2 inch.If not you can also just use  rabbits and dado's with  brads with glue.

Hi Jens,

Is it possible to use 1/2" mdf veneer for making base cabinets with pocket hole joinery?  I was given 3 sheets of this and I would like to use it up.  The cabinets are going underneath my cutting table in the sewing room.

It's been a long time since I have been back to the forum.  My woodworking goes on hold during the winter.  I did get to work in the shop most of today and I have several projects on my to do list.

You welcomed me to the forum back in August 2010, I live near Lake Goodwin.

Thanks in advance for your help and wisdom,

Janice

Hi Jens,

I am not far from Lk Goodwin.  I love woodworking and my shop is pretty much up and running, still needs tweaking but that is the fun part.

I have been putting new windows in an old mobile home.  My friend mentioned he used a pocket hole jig (instead of toe nailing) when replacing rotten wood (rotten wood in an old mobile home, no shortage)!!  Well, I had been wanting a Kreg jig for a long time and I used this as an excuse to get one!!  Worked well for this application, I am looking forward to using it in cabinet making.

Thanks for the come back and hope to meet you someday since we are neighbors!!

Janice

Jens, there really was no question intended.  I was setting up my Kreg page and the question asked was what project are you currently building.  I responded "Oak Furniture"!  Sorry for any confusion.
