<p>it is hard for me at the final few inches, I solved it by ripping on a very stable platform, such as rows 2x4s clamped down. I prefer also to clamp the piece. Then I can focus on controlling the saw with Rip Cut. Wood working to me is 90% planning and 10% using the tools. </p>

I tried every combination I could think of to hold my saw straight at the beginning and end of the cut, but no luck Determined not to be defeated by this thing, I decided it wasn't me but the side guide was just too short.
