Just finished assembling my new Kreg Universal Workbench with casters.  Great quality and gotta love that blue!  Easy assembly using a 1/2" socket wrench with extension.  Planning to use it as a mobile miter saw stand so now I have to figure out what kind of top and how to attach raised wings to support the material being cut.

Thanks Mike.  I just finished assembling my Kreg stand to support my miter saw so that decision is a done deal.  Just considering what to do about the top at this point.  Yes, I have gleaned many ideas from looking at all the pictures of the homemade miter saw stands and I'm sure they will help me when it comes time to build the extensions.  How's the weather in Oxford?

Wendy the platform is only 21" front to back ,maybe a better solution would be to make a custom made stand for your mitre saw , their should be some photos to give you ideas if you go to the search box in top right hand corner type in mitre saw stand .

OK I see you put it on a rolling platform.  I needed something compact that would roll out through my garage door so I can work outside.  The Kreg stand is only 20" deep so will go through the doorway no problem and the casters work great.  There's so many homemade miter saw stations on the internet, it's mind boggling.  I want to keep mine simple if possible and I thought the Kreg stand would be a good foundation.  I'm just fussing with whether or not to pay $130 for a Festool MFT top for it or just go with plywood or MDF cut to fit.  I just like the MFT top because it has all those precision holes in it that are great for certain projects I might want to do outdoors.

Thanks Mike.  Reason I went with the Kreg stand is so I could put a wood top on guaranteeing my Kapex would fit because the Kapex Miter saw is not compatible with most third party miter saw stands from what I've read.  Do you have a pic of how you attached casters to your miter saw stand?  I thought about getting the Kapex table and doing that, but couldn't find any casters that would attach to the legs as they are not designed to accept casters.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
