i actually forgot the important lesson learned for me:

ALWAYS...no wait, NEVER, expect to find quality wood from blue blue/orange. find a real lumber yard with people who know wood. i lucked out and found one pretty close by :-)

no, ss bill, no plans, i made it up as i went along. but a good starting point would be the outside dimensions to fit whatever mattress you will use. my own lessons learned:

*use the slat spacing recommended by the mattress manufacturer. in my case, the memory foam folks suggested slats no more than 2" apart. think i used 1 3/4". made for more slats but the mattress is too expensive to mess up.

*toe kick; 5" deep, 3" high

*support boxes 3/4" ply

*drawer faces 3/4" solid wood

*heavy duty drawer slides

*plan for dead space at the head if using nightstands

we'll be at the lakehouse this weekend, so i can take measurements for this queen

Miter Saw Recommendation 1 Reply

I’m looking to upgrade my miter saw. I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get one with the precision pocket hole joinery requires. Would anyone like to offer a recommended model?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Not Pleased With Pocket Hole Construction
