I have a wood burner but hardly use it because I forget that I have it. I guess it comes with age. I have all kinds of "neat" hand tools but forget how many "neat" hand tools that I really have. You see something - you think WOW that would be "neat" to have - you buy it and then you forget you have it. I guess I should consider myself blessed with the opportunity to buy things but sure wish I was blessed to remember that I bought them! Ha! Thanks for the compliments.

It turned out gorgeous! I figured you might woodburn it much like I would. Either way, it really adds something, doesn't it?

I tried giving a description of the bench but for some reason my computer skills weren't very favorable at the time. Anyway - the bench is made of 3/4" solid oak that I purchase rough cut from my favorite warehouse in Trenton, Illinois. Although I did draw some preliminary plans to build the bench - it was really a design as you go project. I am not big on plans and prefer to create as I build. I applied two coats of Min-Wax golden oak stain and three coats of Min-Wax satin polyurethane finish. I use 0000 steel wool between each application. I have a total of approximately 32 hours in the project from start to finish.

Don: Believe it or not that is the most asked question when people see the photo. In this case I searched the Internet for a photo of a butterfly. I use carbon paper to trace it onto the wood. Then I used my 2-h.p. Riobi router with a 1/8" strait cut bit and I route the image free-hand. I then take a black (or whatever color you want) Sharpie and I color the cut out areas. I usually let the ink soak into the wood and then I do it one more time. After a half hour or so I run the board thru my planer and take about 1/32" off the top to clean any of the ink that may have gone outside the lines. I make a lot of projects with different images. You can personalize things with people's names on them.

Silly question, probably, but how is the butterfly on the backrest?

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
