this is made from only 6 . 2x4's 1/2 sheet of 1/4" ply and a 3/4" x 18 x48" glued edge pine board . every joint is a lap joint . how strong is it ? im 220 pounds and can sit in the middle of it no problem . so lets add up the total cost . 6 x 2.68 = 16.08 half of sheet 5.75, top 14.99 screws and sand paper 5.00 ===$41.82......
cut everything on the arm saw . the key to this is to cut the lap joints on the 2x4 first then cut it in half on the table saw . but , set your stop block on the arm saw and cut each side of the lap joint on all pc. then cut out the center of the lap joint .... this will make all the joints level with each other ... let me know if you need help on this .... ..
