Hey Jens, There seems to be a mix from what I have seen but mostly twist.

Do your pallets up there get many twist nails like we do down here?

Hi Jens, Wherever I can I try to keep them as long as possible to limit checking while they dry and it's helpful for planner snipe too.

Hi Ed, I just set them on a couple of saw horses and use a block of wood and a hammer to push the boards from the back side. Sometimes they come apart easy but not always. Then I remove the nails on the work bench with a spacer to give the nail room to move.

It is a real hassle because most pallet makers use the twist nails and they are a bugger to get out  what I have seen. What i have done if it has only (2) 2x2 or 2x4 on bottom just cut them off  on inside and burn the 2x's and you will end up with of course little shorter stock

Good for you!  I had this big idea that iwas going to salvage about 40 pallets for furniture wood.

what a mistake. i tried quite a few methods of removing the nails and all were not very successful.

I am still open for suggestions, what method did you use?

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
