You are right on there about the saw not being the only thing that can get ya. Anything and everything in your shop can get ya if your mind wanders or if you just arent as careful as you could be.... and sometimes even when you are careful.... ka... rest it and let it heal.... totally heal. Nothing worse than a small bone in your hand/fingers that you think has healed from a break being re-injured when you thought it was healed but wasnt....

Thx guys!!! Yes it was horrendous. I was screwing with all my might, and then it slipped...for a split second, thought, that didn't just happen did it? then the blood came, I got the "vapors", swooned....but I've picked myself up and am being very careful. It's not just the saws that will getcha. I'm going to be super careful from now on. :)

Boy, It probably hurt after the fact. I am glad you didn't lose the whole finger. I am glad your tough ole gal.  Accidents do happen when you are not expecting it. I am glad that you are back in the saddle again.

The nail will surely grow back later on.  I hope your finger gets better. Take Care.

As one of my former managers used to say, "Slow DOWN, We are in a hurry!".

Safety takes a minute but injuries can last a long time.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

"Ahhhhhhhh"  that nail removal sounds painful,  but glad to hear that your back into it again.

Not too bad today, I was holding the wood in place, drilling a 3" screw in as hard as I could (Pressure treated wood), slipped, ouch!@x%*^&^%$

Went right into my nail, broke a tiny bone.

The worst part, when the nail was removed at work ER to release pressure.

But, back in the saddle, rafters going on this am!
