I recently demoed a 30-year old patio cover, and was going to toss the wood. But, once I got a good look at it, I realized it was worth keeping, and I got the idea to build an outdoor workbench. It turned out great, and I realized that I had a great time working on it.
My next project is a patio service counter with storage cabinet on the bottom. It will be topped with a granite slab that I recovered from an office build-out, and will be built entirely with wood I recovered from a neighbor's garage.
I'm doing my share to keep this great stuff out of the landfill!
