This is how it works on the steps! Worked pretty good considering we got our light bulbs changed and back on! Very simple to build thanks to the Kreg jig. Took less than 40 minutes to measure and cut the wood then drill the pocketholes then screw together. VERY STURDY and VERY SAFE thanks to Kreg!

I was in exactly the same boat as you with no light. I considered the big expensive ladders too. Then, I found a video on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2MYQdg-amQ All I did was modify his design a little bit. I didn't need the extra 4 inch blocks because the Kreg joints are already so tight. Use the video as a guide but when you measure, try using a scrap 2x4 on your steps to measure with, press it down into your carpet (if you have carpet) because mine is just about maybe 1/2 inch shorter than where it needs to be. I measured from top of carpet without pushing my measuring tape down into the carpet (as a board would do). Total cost of wood? 6 bucks at Lowes for 2 2x4's. A step ladder or adjustable ladder works well on this. Thanks for the comment!

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
