The top is done with Oak and trimmed in maple. That was not a planned design. I had a left over piece of Oak but it was too short for the table. I decided to trim it out in the maple that I had picked up at a discount bin. Since maple does not take a stain well, I left it in its natural state. The entire table is coated stained with minwax English Chestnut and coated with 3 coats of semi gloss poly.
