This is the first time I've used these plugs, and while it was super easy to install, it was kind of a pain to trim, especially in plywood. The cabinet is on its side here.

I'm looking at building a shadow box and I'm not sure when to drill the holes before or after I cut my 45 degree cut. I'm using 4" W - 3/4" Thick Aspen. I want my holes to be on the inside of the shadow box which will give it a much cleaner look.

Derek must have his the nail on the head. These definitely seem too long. I have been working with 3/4" stock and they are way too long. The white plastic ones that came with my unit work just fine, but they're a little pricey.

Kerry, I wondered if he was talking about the 'length' of the plugs? If that's the case... Roger, the reason they're too long, is that they're made to work with everything from 3/4" stock to 1-1/2" stock. You have to trim them to the correct length once they've been inserted. If you search the forums you'll find a few threads discussing how best to do this.

My plugs fit right in with thumb pressure and I gave them a little tap with a hammer just to seat them. If your plugs don't fit, they may be "wet", or have swelled with moisture. Put them in the microwave for 15 or 20 seconds and then see if they fit better.

Maybe I purchased the wrong size of plugs but they just don't seem to fit. Do you have to pound them in place?'

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
