Slide the extensions open and drop the leaves in place. Now there's seating for 10-12, again depending on how much you love each other. There's also enough room to keep the food in the middle of the table for serving.

That's where I got the idea for the "hardware accent".  I haven't been back to the client's home to take pictures yet, but when I do I'll post them.

Great looking table.  It looks very similar to this one I've been thinking about building for a while now.  http://artofmanliness.com/2011/10/27/make-a-dining-room-table-by-th...

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll get some pics of the slide mechanism when I go back to the client's home to deliver the matching bench in a week or so. I would say the top has about a dozen or so pocket screws holding it together. I also edge jointed the boards with a hand plane and glued them, then pocket screwed them together. I'll post some more info on the extensions soon.

Jason, I really like the framehouse table.  The distressed look just adds to the table and gives it character. Great job.  George.

Great work!  I agree with James, can you take a picture of the bottom?  This design needs to be shared!

Nice design.  The extensions will surely be a useful addition.
