Thanks so much for your comments. By using natural wood, you avoid the weight of plywood. You also get the beauty of natural wood. The wood I used was white pine, the face frame was whitewood. I will post more pics as I reach completeness with the project.

Steve I like your pantry design noting how rich it looks by your method of building the side panels.  Much better looking that that of just a plain flat panel.  Makes it stand out and make a definate  statement such as, "hey I'm a custom cabinet not some off the wall box.  Looking at the picture above it does give you the sense of this being a well built, strong and well thought out piece, that will last and serve the owner with years of storage.  I'm looking forward to seeing you add the doors.  Nice work, Steve
