This shelf was made for my neighbor for her quilting house that is between our home and her home. The wood came from a barn built between 1880-1890 in the town of Glenn Ellen, CA. It was siding used on the barn that came off who knows how many years ago and stored in a corner of the barn. I was able to get enough pieces to build a shelf for her quilting house to display some of her small sewing nick nacks. I pressure washed the wood and then jointed one edge of each board. I used Kreg joinery to put the two pieces together. The braces were cut from smaller boards I found in the barn and attached with glue and pin nails. The old growth redwood measured 8'long x 10" wide and 1-1/8" thick and still had some square head nails in them. So we know this wood shelf is made from redwood milled over 100 years ago. Fun project, easy to build and re-purposed some pretty cool old redwood. jerry-

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
