My first Kreg Jig project is officially done: I stained the table dark to “match” existing furniture.

My second table is underway. This time with a drawer.

Fantastic table, Jenny. On signing, I either woodburn my initials and the year, or am considering getting a branding iron from Rockler. I saw that my brother Dan started using a branding iron, and have to admit it looks that much more professional. They're spendy, though. Dan paid about $75-80 on his.

Ed - These are just for me. Luckily I need 3 end tables. So that will keep me busy for 3 weekends at least. Good idea about signing them, I have never done that. Do you sign yours? What is the best thing to sign them with?

Hi Jenny, the table looks great, and I guess you are making other tables to make a set. Do not for get to sign and date it for history. Are you going to sell the furniture yet or this is for your keep sake? Ed

I didn’t use a conditioner, I probably should have to lessen the contrast between the tight and loose grain. I used 3 coats of Zar oil-based stain (custom mixed at Frazee) then (ok, not really done yet) probably 3 coats of Varathane satin. I use minimal sanding between coats (just to knock down any bubbles).

Your table is very beautiful. What type of finish will you use? Will you use a sealer? Sanding vs. non sanding? Will you use, just a top coat only, building up on continious layers? Dave

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
