Hi Gary
I think you need to look at the other photo that shows the fences flipped up. This picture shows the saw in the stowed position. The other photo has the fences flipped out and the saw in it's normal working position. In the photo above you can see that there is not enough room for the saw to slide it's full length and be pretty much useless. The hood still needs to have another piece attached at the back. I am waiting for some more scrap to fill it in.

I don't understand the hood in the center it makes the extensions useless? Also for support purposes you want the center section the same size as the saw width without the extensions connected.
