Hi Michael,

Once I had cut all my frame pieces to length I had several scrap pieces with which to test the jig on. I noticed the same drift at first but found that if I tightened the clamp slightly it would reduce the movement. I also found that if you use a smooth hard surface it worked even better. My assembly table consisted of an old hollow core door that I place across two saw horses. The outer skin of the door was not very hard or dent resistant so I used a couple of pieces of melamine shelving lying flat on the door to give me a smooth hard surface to clamp to. You have to find a happy medium with the clamping pressure that will hold the pieces flush but still allow the pieces to squeeze together tightly.

Hope that helps.
Jim

Hi Jim,

I am blown away by your craftsmanship. Your joints look incredibly flush. I was wondering if you have noticed some drift (about 1/32") when screwing in pocket holes and how you conquer that problem. I recently built a credenza that came out beautiful, but it took quite a bit of clamping the get the joints smooth and in many cases, some good cover-up. Your work looks precise! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Aloha,

Mike

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
