Thanks James and Ken for your comments.  It has worked out pretty good so far.  I need to start making some sawdust to thin out the rack!  I have a big bowling tournament coming up next week and I need to focus on that this week.  After the tournament, I will be back in the garage focusing on getting some things done.  If I'm lucky, I will have some extra money in my pocket!  Thanks again for the comments.

Lorrie,

Nice job.

Thanks for sharing.

For storing shorter boards horizontally, a shorter 2x4 can be installed between the taller 2x's.

A peg spacing of 4", will allow for more assorted adjustments.

For lighter loads, a 3/4'' x 12" long dowel can be used for the pegs.

When making pegs from dowels, cut a 1/32 x 4" saw kerf into one end of the dowel, and chamfer the end 1/8''.

The saw kerf will close, when inserting the dowel into the hole, making for easier insertion, using a twisting motion---and orientate the kerf ''vertically'' in the upright member.

(if the kerf is horizontal, the peg will sag a little, when loaded.

Lubing the end of the dowel, with parafin wax, will make the dowels easier to insert/remove when adjustments are desired.

Have fun making sawdust.

It really does hold a lot.  I added a 3rd shelf today.  I was leaving the top open for longer boards but I'm getting a lot of small lumber from my dad and I needed another shelf to put it on.  One of the other pictures I posted shows the 3rd shelf.  I made a jig for drilling the holes at a 3 degree angle.  I don't have a drill press.  The jig came out right.  When I was clamping and drilling the holes, I'm not sure that the clamps held the jig at the proper angle.  some of the holes seem to be at a slightly different angle.  Overall, I think it came out good.  Not too bad for a novice.  My neighbors kept asking me what I was building?! LOL  Thanks Jay for your nice comments.

Lorrie, nice job and it looks like it will hold a large amount of lumber and sheet goods.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
