Thanks, It is pine. I used wood conditioner first then Minwax Ipswitch pine stain and a polyeurothane finish.

Louis, That is a beautiful bed and night stand. Did you make it out of pine? Just by the color it looks like it could be pine. I also have been thinking of making one to replace our waterbed.
Again great job....

This is so awesome. I have been wanting to build a really nice platform (none asian style) We have a rather small room with a king size bed. Like Jim i have been pricing them and they are outrageous. I hope i can build one half as nice... Thanks for sharing. Rinchen

Louis...what a great job. My wife and I were just checking these out at Raymor and Flanagan; they are running about $950 to $1150- depending on flavor [color]. Very nice work. I'm guessing the night table is yours also. Jim King, Elmira, NY

Very nice indeed, I have been wanting to build one myself for a spare bedroom. Did you build with plans or was it your own design?

Thanks, Yes,four drawers total, and a slide out compartment hidden behind the center panel
in the footboard. So there is plenty of storage.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
