Debra, Yes all of the vertical pieces are individual pieces. I don't know if it is clear in the pictures, but the front edges are chamfered--gives some detail and style to the whole front. It was probably overkill, but I had two screws at the top and two at the bottom--each piece was 2" wide. In one of the three, the spacing (1/2") between slats worked out perfectly. But, for the other two, I put in a "variable" width piece in the center to allow for the 2" slats with equal spacing all the way across. Hope that makes sense. You might be able to see that in the photo of the one with the two storage cabinets. I will add that the actual assembly time was about 1/2 hour for each of the face frames even with all of those screws. Key is to have all of the joints cut square. Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the quick answers Jim. One more thing: are the vertical pieces in the radiator cover front all individual pieces pocket holed into the top and bottom rails? If so, what size are they?

The top and sides of each unit is plywood and the faces are poplar as the finished product will be painted. The one cover with the two storage cabinets was done as three separate pieces. We used a contour gauge, compass to scribe and the good eye of my son to make the fit at the baseboards--not an easy task.

Great job! I am about to do the EXACT same thing. Couple of questions: What kind of wood is that? Did you do three separate pieces? Did you use a contour gauge to match your baseboard moulding so well?
