I will say with the angles, it is definately a good idea to mark each end what the angle is cut at. spent a good hour trying to figure out why the box was so off on initial assymbly. (sledge hammer to work bench usually gets rid of some of the stress).
Everything you see is RED OAK. I used a 1"x12"x2' piece to make the cheverons. I had a templet cut using a laser etcher, which really helped.
the angles were a pain in the butt. i had to draw out the design and make the cuts for the angles. it definately needs some fine tuning to make it a good fit but thats the beauty of clamps, glue, and pocket holes. i should have some final project pictures soon. i just got the glass picked up this morning and will be working on it this weekend.
Hello John A,
This looks to a be a bit of "aragght" to me.
Very neat center section with good use of the Kreg Jig and finishing plugs.
A question, What sort of material did you cut the curved section at the top of the Chevron from ?
It looks to be a single section of timber of which originally would have had to be of very wide material
Also I think it may be the bottom as US Forces have the reverse of Aust forces in regard to cheverons?
I wonder why that is?
Looking forward to seeing the finished product
Keep up the good work !!
Other stuff, Its also possibly a good project for the thinking man in regards to working successfully with various angles and producing a good looking assembly, regardless even if it's hidden by front and back sections. might be worth while submitting it to Kreg Tool as a project plan !!
Regards
Robert Brennan

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
