Queen Storage Bed; I used countess pocket screws in the drawer boxes, drawers, and framing slats. Being a little shy on power tools, I make this entire platform bed using a drill, versacut circular saw, and sander. The wood is 3/4" hardwood plywood and knotty pine. I built it in a total of 13 sections to make it possible to carry all the pieces up a spiral staircase to my loft :-)

thanks for the compliment :-)
no, no other photos at the moment, i was so happy to get it to a finished state, i set it up at the house without taking photos of putting it together lol
the drawers are inset, i used steel ball bearing slides (which i HATE with a passion!). i had no plan (bad idea!) other than knowing the mattress was 60" x 80", and that's what the slat frame needed to be. the biggest problem i had with existing plans was that they were also 60 x 80 on the floor; that means every time you walk up to the bed you hit your toes on the bottom (it'd be like building base cabinets flush with the countertops and without a toe kick). no plan i could find had the bed sitting on a frame that was smaller than the mattress, so i had to wing it. working from the top down; the frame is 60 x 80 (built in 4 pieces), around the perimeter the drawer boxes are 56 x 78, and the 2x4 frame bottom is 50 x 75 (also built in 4 pieces). that leaves 5" clear on the floor on the sides and foot. the boxes at the head are dead space; if they had drawers, we couldn't use the knotty pine nightstands i'm building now :-)
good luck with your build, can't wait to see what you come up with!
Hi Carol you cannot beat building things in kit form to place in a specific place that's not easy to access .

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
