Here are a series of photo's of my "mobile" workshop set up on my driveway. This was the first time I used the Kreg finish frame clamps. Can anyone tell me the "trick" of preventing the clamp from popping open?

While I don't own that clamping setup I know that with most "vise-grips" it's a matter of adjusting the rear screw to the proper pressure. It can be tricky. Too much pressure and you could damage the object and have a real hard time closing the clamp.  Not enough pressure will cause the clamp to pop open. I would try a little more tension where it takes a little effort to close the jaw of the clamp.
