The plans may call for 1" but I used 3/4" for this bed. But I did use cabinet grade plywood. I did use 3/8" for the top piece of plywood. Yes the 3/4" is still heavy but I didn't want it to break under her.

I am just wondering if this is really built using 1" thick plywood.  Seams it would be very heavy.
