The lid is attached by 2 hinges in the back. I thought about gluing the lid to the lid frame, but there is a small area that will take a screw without penetrating the inner lid wall, so I screwed the lid to the lid frame with a couple of carefully placed screws. If you look closely at the front of the lid, you can see 2 of the screws.

Is the lid attached by a hinge or does it just lift off? Also, is the cooler lid glued into the wooden lid or is it a friction-fit?
