So my wife wants me to make her a big chalkboard in the kitchen for Mother's Day. Got some 1x3 pine from Home Depot. Mitre cut them. Drilled 8 pocket holes. Added some wood glue and joined them. Now to let it dry before sanding, priming, and painting. Then I'll hang it and paint the wall with chalkboard paint. Happy Mother's Day.

Comment by Kenneth B on May 5, 2014 at 8:27am: I have a question about what to use to attach this frame to the wall. I was thinking of just using my nail gun to drive 2" finish nails through the frame and drywall into the stud. Not sure if this will actually work. Any recommendations?
