Start with a plain cooler, I like the type without a drain. I put in my own drain on the bottom. Drains better than the side drain.

Thanks Al,

I secured the top to the inner frame with a few well placed screws around the perimeter of the cooler top. You can see how the original hinges are attached on the back and just follow that example.

I don't mind if you copy my idea, how do you think I got it?  Someone else was kind enough to post it on another forum.
