Mark these were made to carry and store wood for the fire pit, I use them to hold the scraps until the party begins.

There are mainly two different types of fire pits. Fire pits that are built in fire pits made with materials such as rock or brick. Then there are the out of box fire pits. You've seen them every where and they look cool. When yo are talking about something that you are going to build a fire in you must think pratical!

Thanks guy's, It wasn't that long ago I never would of thought about matching that grain like that, But watching and learning from you guys have helped me alot, by the way the finish on those boxes is simply Thompsons water seal.

Thanks again Ray

Ray, the fire pit boxes are a work of art.  Excellent finish and the grain is very eye catching.  You accompolished  excellent work in selecting the wood and matching the grain.  I have viewed all of your Christmas Projects and every single one of them is a gift that anyone would love to have.  Each item shows care in design and execution in its build.  Another example of why I think you should start mass production of your ideas, I knmow you would do well.  Thanks for posting your gift projects it is inspiring to see such fine examples.

Thanks guys, I got a couple pcs. of 5/4 poplar about 7'' wide planned them down to 3/4'' and noticed how pretty the grain was and was able to come up with this design.
