75 inches long made of glued up alder panels and top. dove tailed drawers on full extention slides. This was a custom built cabinet to sit under a wall mounted 65 inch wide screen TV. It will house the entertainment package like amplifier and surround sound equiptment as well as all the stereo equiptment. I will post a link to a slide show showing the building of this unit.

Thanks Jay! I took a look and the link you gave me and I can't wait to get started. Thanks again.
John Morales, here is a site you might like to visit. It is located in southern Oregon (Klamath Falls.)
Thank you John for the nice complement on my work. Alder is a very nice red brown wood with some dark streaks in it and is classed as a hardwood. It is very good wood for detailed cuttiing such as moldings and is very stable. Although classed as a hard wood it is in the soft side of the scale being about the hardness of pine or popular but harder in density that cedar. It glues well and holds nail or screw well. It is sometime used as a sub for cherry and used in both paint grade and stain grade work. It is a straight grain with the wood cells being fine. It is easy to find the clear wood with out knots and defects in long pieces and also can be found with very interesting patterns. In the grade they consider pin knots not to be a defect. It is pricey in the $4.95 per board ft range. It is a native of Oregon and other areas. It is a highly exported wood to Japan areas.
Very, very nice Jay! I really like your entertainment cabinet. I've never worked with alder. Is alder a very hard wood? I am considering using it for some side tables. Thanks.
Thank you Justin, it's not hickory but pretty nice wood to work with. Starting cutting lumber on Monday Jan 09 on a very large cabinet project that will take me about mid March to finish. Lots of cabinets all custom with lots of special woodworking involved. it will be red oak which is also one of my favorites. The smile boxe is a good way for you to expose your woodworking business to others.
Thanks again for a nice comment.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
