oh...sorry....I missed your other question. The side rails are attached to the posts and the box spring sits on boards that go across the bed from side rail to side rail
Jayne, I will see if I can get a picture of the bracket I used. The bedrail brackets are pretty standard and not hard to find. Maybe search the internet for "side rail brackets for timber beds"....or something like that. We live in an area where there are a lot of log cabins (like our home) so these brackets are in the local hardware stores as there are a lot of big timber beds in the cabins.
Ok. Seriously heavy construction in this bed.. I want to know how you attached the ends to the rails. Is the mattress supported on a platform on the floor or on the side rails? The reason I ask, is I have a bed that is heavy post constructed at all four corners and has a pin system for the rails to attach to. This has broken out of one of the posts. The bed is needing a new rail and attach to the post system. Yours with the weight and size is the first I have seen that is close to the one I have to restore.. Was thinking to just mortise and tendon and use a bolt to tighten it . But the is solid but elegant at the same time.. It's out in the garage waiting for me to do something ?
Thank you for your time

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
