Gary,  I centered the base onto the round steel table first by putting the back of the base flush with the edge of the steel table and centered it side to side.  Then I just lined up the new table top onto the base with the back edge flush with the back edge of the base on center of the base. 

Because the table can swivel around I didn't really 'square' it in that sense...if the table is moved from side to side I'll have reset the position visually with a drill bit chucked.

Looks great. I bought one recently. What did you use for reference to square the table? I was think of putting a staight edge on back two holes and mounting a block to square with.

Thanks guys.  The table size is 17" x 32" and is about 1" thick.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
