Thank you for the kind words. Looking back at some of my first pieces such as this dresser really lets me see how much i have grown in the past couple of years. Wood working is a relatively new passion and hobby of mine.

Are the legs 1x3's or 2x2's?

I would say it is the opposite. It is a face frame with a large board attached to the inside. For things such as cabinet doors and drawer faces the panels are in a slot cut with either a dado blade or router bit. IIRC I used a Bosch tongue and groove router bit from Lowes for all of the cabinet doors and drawer faces in my kitchen. As far as the dresser in the photo, the panel is cut a little larger than the opening in the face frame and then glued and brad nailed from inside. For cabinets I achieve this look by making a plywood carcass, attaching the face frame and back panel and then making a panel to fit over the side of the plywood carcass, plus the depth of the back sheet and then attaching it with glue and brads from inside. Recessing the panel behind a 3/4" face frame leaves the perfect amount of space for your favorite trim profile.  (cove, 1/4 round, etc)

wow!!! i'm so interested in how some of you folks do paneling like this for the sides of cabinets, etc. so how did you do the side of the dresser to get the look of the inset panel? is it just a long board with the "face frame" attached to the outside? or did you actually inset a board or panel in a face frame?

thanks for any guidance you can provide!

The only project plans that I ever really make are a scale drawing on a sheet of graph paper. I picked the over all dimensions to fit a specific space and then built the face frames.

thank you, I stained it black to match the bed i made. I kinda wished i would of just sealed it or something to leave the natural finish.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
