I guess I assumed mine was a 220V since it used to be on a 220V circuit. (I just checked the breaker box, didn't actually go look at the blower yet.) We had everything changed out in December. So maybe mine is 110V. (If not you'd think as much as we just paid our Carrier guy he would give me an old one!)
Thanks!

Mine is 110V. All the furnace blowers that I have seen are from household furnaces so they are all 110. You can contact any of your local heating/ac companys and they are always pulling out old furnaces and are usually wlling to give you one for nothing. I would try to get one that is 110v. Save your 220v for something that really requires it. I do leave mine on as an air purifier and it really works well. Anything I can help you with please don't hesitate to ask.

I was looking at a very similar plan online. I badly need a sanding table and read that building this type can also serve as an air cleaning to some degree. (also badly needed) I have a question for you if you don't mind. The old blower I have is 220V. The one you used and the one I see from the plan online are similar. Was it 220V also? I have an extra 220 circuit in the workshop so that's no problem. Just wondering how you did your electrical connections since it appears to have a 110V outlet on the side. And wondering if I should just find a 110V blower somewhere. Thanks!!

No problem Charles. A downdraft table is where you do your sanding. When you are going to start to sand you turn the blower on which creates a draft of air from the room which picks up all your sanding materials and pulls it down through the holes, down into the cabinet and then is pulled further through the filters which separates the dust while the clean air is pushed back out into the room though the vent. Commercial downdraft tables cost thousands while the cost of this is the wood and the filters and your time. If you want to build one I can send you some details. You might want to Google "plans for a downdraft table."

Nate,
I don't know what is the purpose of an downdraft tabletop. I'm always open to new ideas. Please don't be offended in any way. I have never seen one. I do have a Old Furnace Blower.
