Jeff, I made the crates myself. I just drew it up on graph paper and kind of guessed the proportions. The sides are all cut from 1x8 boards. The bottom of the crates are 4 - 1x3's. I used lathe for the sides. The bottom crate is upside down. The top one stands on it's end. I am attaching some pictures that might help you to build it. It was easy once I built the first one. I did have to screw a few of them together to make it stand up nice, but the crates can be easily taken down later and used for something else!

Nesting Wine Crates.

(Nesting optional---but does facilitate storing)

Simple construction.
Chose a size that facilitates your desires, or,

make the largest crate to accommodate (4) 1 gal milk jugs, with the crate opening "UP" and the milk jugs "upright".

2x2 for the inside corners. (TIP: 1"x1" chamfer one verical corner).

Slats 1/2 x 2  or 1x2

1" spacing between slats.

Joinery:  butt joints and 2" brad nails

Great idea, I would love to build this for my wife next year.

Could I ask about the crates, what or where do you get the plans?

Mary O love this, what a grand way to show off your Christmas items and save a tree.
