hi kevin the tiger maple, and other exotics i buy were from a local company called craigshardwood or hardwoods inc they supply wood for woodcraft.google exotic woods in your area.that particular store has moved east to middle tn.sometimes you can find the maple at bix box stores amongst their maple selection.so rip the maple to width of desired board.rabbit the edge on back for pic glass.use router to route channel for inlaythen i use tablesaw for adj of inlay material.glue that in, then miter corners and secure with whatever method you have .i biscuit join miters.remember to take pic size then subtract 1/4 + 1/4 to account for edge to be hidden by frame then same for length.dont forget to measure backer +glass to determine depth of dado .next is rails between pics .measure furthest distance dado to dado on back to get size then notch to fit flush.hope its not too confusing this was my first frame and i have gotten better since.its a good 1-2 day project.if you cant find exotics try rockler or ebay.

Patrick, this is outstanding.  What is the process?  And, where do you get your woods?

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
