Hey Louis,
The boards I used were already routed (pretty sure with a 1/4" roundover) and I just sanded the corners on the ledge so it wasn't so sharp.
Unfortunately I didn't make plans, I just looked on the internet (googled cedar planters) and found a photo/design that I liked.... then I just built it lol.
Cut 16 pieces at 6 inches (cut smaller or bigger if you want) for the long sides and then rip some smaller pieces (2 or 3 inches) for the ends, I am pretty sure they were 3 inches to accommodate the pocket holes. Screwed my four sides together... glued and air nailed the bottom and top ledges.... lined it heavy duty plastic... drill some drainage holes and voila lol.... hope this helps...
Couple questions.....
Did you use a router to round the edges?
Do you have some plans altough it does look pretty easy?
Lou
I have two more boards (used three boards for this one) to build a smaller planter for the ledge at the top of the stairs... I can take some photos of the entire process with descriptions... It wasn't really difficult using the kreg jig... sure beats the hell out of gluing and clamping.
The easiest part was staining this unit. I saw a video somewhere of a spray stain and found it at my local Canadian Tire http://www.krylon.com/products/exterior_semitransparent_wood_stain/.
This worked great and made it so easy to give it this rich color.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
