Wow, Jay, thanks for the great comments. I had read about using ammonia to fume white oak, and just got really curious about what kind of results could be achieved. I think that craftsman and mission style furniture are some of the most impressive pieces I have ever seen, and I try to draw from some of the techniques they used. I intend to fume some more pieces in the future. Again, I appreciate your kind comments!

Willim, this is absolutely stunning.  The grains are very lively and the dovetailed drawers are really eye catching.  The fuming process is somewhat time consuming and the outcome you have produced says alot about your dedication to craftsmanship.  Fuming is an art that is fast being replaced with modern day finishes yet it was and still is one of the best methods of finishing any oak furniture.  I am glad someone is still interested in this type of finish.

Your craftsmanship is very nice and the design is something that does appeal to someone wanting a piece of furniture that is definate custom made.  I hope you will continue building this type furniture.  Excellent work.  Thank you for sharing this special crafted piece.

Hey, Gary, yeah, the process really does make the grain stand out - and once I got everything set up to fume the piece, it was really easy.

Thanks for the kind comment, David!
