Grant, No, I have not painted it yet. I have a fondness for raw, natural cedar. The first one I made, I did seal it with Spar Urethane.

As for how to add seed to it, the top roof is not attached: http://kregjig.ning.com/photo/img00490-1/prev?context=user the hanging wire is ran through the roof to allow it to be removed and seed added,

then the roof is put back on and it is re-hung.

I have one outside, the one I sealed, but have not added seed to it yet.

Looks good! Have you paint it yet? and have you install it outside yet? Show us some more pics.

 

Also, I wonder if we should make little hole somewhere on rooftop so its easier to add seeds? How do you pour into birdhouse from seed bag?

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
