My current assembly work station was made in a hurry with just 4 by 2's screwed together and is getting a bit worn and starting to move. Time to make a new work station and thinking of something like this incorporating Kreg Track. I might even make the top removable so can interchange it for one without tracks when they are not required.
Do other people find the track useful rather than clamping to the edge of the work surface?
It will have lockable wheels as well so can move it around when need to.

Thanks for the advice Tim. Once I can afford a set of new clamps for the track and track itself I'll progress with that build.
Unless you have a specific reason for not having the Kreg tracks, I'd stick with one top. I put 2 T-tracks in my bench top that run the entire length and haven't had any issues other than dropping hardware into them. I keep a magnet handy to retrieve easy. The tracks work great for holding down work pieces or bench mounted tools. With the top overhanging the cabinetry, you can also use the top's edge for clamping. I do have a Zyliss vise (left when my wife's uncle passed) that mounts on the edge of my bench perfectly (and removes just as easily).

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
