The top as you an see was made from off cut scraps

Hello Ray,

The top was firstly finished by the usual sanding process.
Then coated with Perfect Gloss.
perfect gloss a product of ATL Composites Pty Ltd.
www.atlcomposites.com
Its a 2 pack epoxy product self leveling, easy to use.
To remove any bubbles simply wave a gas torch over the surface, (carefully) and presto a really good finish.
P.S. The matching hexagonal top tray is on the gallery somewhwere as well it has a couple of pictures embedded in the top coat you may want to check it out also.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
