I wanted a wood cook stove for my 1900 style dining room but just couldn't bring myself to buy a real antique, so off to the shop I went. Scrap beadboard paneling, an old hollow door, left over kitchen backsplash "tin" tiles, legs off of a water heater stand and a Sunday in peace and quiet . . . viola!! An antique wood-burning cook stove. Now I just have to figure out the stove pipe and spark mat. I'm thinking dryer vent pipe would serve the purpose of stove pipe.

Thanks Jay!  I was going to get real stove pipe, but I'm thinking light-weight as you mentioned. I'm also considering pvc so the elbows will look more authentic. Pvc wrapped in electrical tape is what I used on the stove top to connect the pipe to.

The amanda spam doesn't show up on my view. It hit all my posts a while back and after reporting it they all went away but one, again "my view", and I just deleted that photo. I guess I need to ask for a clean up from the site administrators. Thanks for letting me know its still there.

Betty you are pretty clever and have made a nice looking stove by just thinking and using items that are somewhat unique yet common.  Now that is thinking out a project to say the least.  They still make stove pipe in my area which is sold in home building stores like home depot.  The dryer vent might be lite weight for your purpose.  just a note i'm sure you would like to get rid of the comment below from the amanda skam.  look beside the comment to its right and there is a quotation mark or a small "x"  mouse click it and it should go away.  There is a lot of these comment floating about on different members pages.  Again very nice project .

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
