Thanks for all the comments! The colored stain was a bit tricky to work with. We used the Minwax water based on this project. The big key is not becoming impatient or trying to do too much. We found it tacked up quicker than traditional stains, and became more of a paint than stain. There was some additional sanding needed after we did a couple of tests on the drawer fronts. The key, work a small area, don't let the stain set too long, and work in a couple of coats.
I haven't tried milk paints before, but it's something I've been interested in.

Haven't used colored stain yet...may use it on bedroom furnature in the future projects I have in mind. Any hints on using colored stain ?

I making a hex ring out of 2x4s ripped to 2 ¾ inches wide with 30 degree miters. What setting on the Jig should I used? 1 ½ is too much. Thanks.Continue
